Site framework
Step 6. Assign a new folder for the site and create a new Flash file. You will keep all content of your site in this file. Choose a background and change stage size to 740X400 pixels – it fits the Internet Explorer window with 800X600 resolution without scrolling and should be enough for the small site.
We made our site a bit smaller to fit this page.
Step 7. Assign 10 frames for each page (step 5) and extend the main timeline. If you projected 6 pages for your site – it will be 60 frames.
Step 8. Add as many layers as many layout fragments you counted – one layer for the Title, next for the Subtitle and so on. Name them accordingly.
Step 9. Add two layers on the top of the stack – name them ACTIONS and LABELS. At the bottom of the stack add layer for Sounds. Of course you may add more layers later, but it’s more convenient to have all them on hand.
Step 10. Separate the layer LABELS timeline with the keyframes at the 10 frames interval. The length of the intervals is not critical, but it’s convenient to keep it about 10 frames. If you have 60 frames they must be separated into 6 intervals. In Properties Inspector name each frame interval with the names of your pages – like “home”, “rome”, “paris”, “london”, “prague” for the travel website or “home”, “robin”, “starling”, “jay” for bird watcher site.
Step 11. Insert keyframes in exactly the same places as for LABELS to the layer ACTIONS and to all layers with “dynamic” content. Leave layers with “static” content (like Title or Logo) intact. Your timeline should look like on our example
