Buttons

Flash and interactivity

Most modern websites available on Internet reveals a high lever of interactivity – they are “stuffed” with responsive components. Using mouse you may navigate through the Web submit information and invoke complex behavior. Actually the corner stone concept of World Wide Web documents is a hypertext –interactive text which serves as a link to another page. It would be shame if Flash couldn’t provide with such capabilities.

But of course Flash gives an opportunity to add interactivity to you movie files. It even gives the designer a chance to use everything and anything as an interactive components.

However to make something to respond to user you need to create a “Button”.

Button is the third and the last type of Symbol in Flash. You learned about Graphic and Movie symbols, but button is even more interesting.

As any button in computer design Flash Button Symbol may respond to events generated by user, such as placing the mouse over, clicking, releasing and so on. We will not go into details of this process in this lesson. Also we’ll put off the explaining of what process may be triggered by interaction with the button.

During this lesson we will simply construct the buttons.

Look at the example – you will see that you can “touch” the button and “click” it – it responds to your mouse – this is a typical example of Flash button.
