Sound

Streaming sound

One more option of the sound Synchronizing is Stream.

This option is especially valuable for adding background music tracks and narrative speech to Flash files published on Internet because it may start playing sound when only small part of it available – frame by frame. The technique is close to used with Internet Real Player. In contrast with Event Sync user must wait when all the sound clip is downloaded before it starts playing.

To add streaming sound import any music or speech MP3 or WAV file to the Flash file. For learning purposes it’s better to use smaller files – it will ease the compiling.

Extend the timeline for at least a hundred frames. Remember that by default it is 12 frames for each second of music.

Drag the imported sound from the library to the stage – it will appear like sound wave at the timeline.

Change the Sync to Stream. Don’t use Loop other than 0 with streaming.

Test your movie – you should hear background music.
