Why use bitmaps?

We know that one of the major advantages of Flash is Vector Graphics.

Why use bitmaps?

Vector graphic is highly formalized and even though it may have an artistic look it cannot fully substitute bitmap images. Proper using bitmaps may extend the scope of Flash animation. Look at the example – we used a guide from the previous lesson and put it on the bitmap background - you never can create such a picture with vectors.
