Prepare symbols
At first let’s create the symbol we will animate. It will be a butterfly. Draw a body with the head and antennas and transfer it to graphic symbol. Then create a drawing for one wing, copy it and make a mirror drawing by using Free Transform Tool – shrink its width to the zero and drag more. Adjust wings position to the body and make a graphic symbol from both wings.
Now delete everything from the stage, insert a new movie symbol. Insert one more layer in the symbol. Place body graphics symbol in one layer and wings graphics symbol in another layer, adjust their position.
Now highlight wings graphics and hit F8 to transfer it to movie wings symbol. Extend this symbol’s timeline up to 10 points. Insert keyframes Highlight graphic wings inside movie wings on the keyframes and shrink or expand it horizontally. Add motion tweening.
You movie symbol should look like that.
Pay attention to the movie hierarchy – Scene1-mvButterf-mvWings-grWings . grBody is also going inside mvWings.
Also look at the color mixer. It’s possible to use several colors in the gradient rainbow. Click under the color ribbon to add more paint canister and drag it out to remove.
