Motion Tweening
More keyframes
You may add more keyframes to your movie – it will work well with the motion tweening.
Firstly you need to make your timeline longer. At the top of Timeline Panel you will find the “ruler” with frame numbers. Near it’s right side is located small button with the pictogram looking also like a ruler. Click it and adjust timeline scale – by default you have “normal”. Tiny – shows the frame as narrowest – so it’s a longer timeline displayed on the screen.
Insert a keyframe at the frame right before the last one. Place cursor to the last keyframe (number 60 in ours example) and extend the timeline to 120 frames (F5 shortcut). Insert a keframe at the frame 65.
Place a cursor at the frame 65 (make sure that keyframe 60 exists), highlight rocket and using Free Transform Tool rotate it by 180%.
Insert keyframe to the last keyframe and drag the rocket back to the point where it started. We should remind that it’s good idea to make a start point of rocket (in frame 1) below the stage and the far point (frames 60 and 60) above the stage.
Now insert Motion Tween between frames 65 and 120.
Test your movie. Rocket should fly up and down the screen.
You may add more keyframes and change direction of the flight. Also it’s possible to add another layers and make the independent motion tweens in separate layers with different objects. But remember – only one symbol may participate in the motion tweening in one layer.
And again – motion tweening works only with symbols – not with the drawings. If you see the dashed line instead of solid line arrow between the keyframes it means that or you have more than one symbol drawn in this layer or initial frame starts with one symbol instance but final frame include another instance or even another symbol. Remember – first place symbols on the stage and then cut the timeline with keyframe.
