Motion Tweening
First Motion
Now we will work on the our movie and you will be working on your example.
- You need to extend the timeline of the main movie to… let’s say 60 frames. We may adjust it later.
- Make sure that the stage is big enough – in our example we’ll do it 280 X 400 pixels.
- Our rocket (remember – it’s a symbol not a drawing) stays at the stage at the start position – place it at the bottom of the stage.
- Insert a keyframe (F6) to the end of the timeline – make sure that black dot appears at the last keyframe
- Highlight the last keyframe and drag the rocket in the final position where you wish your rocket to arrive. It may be upper part of the stage. But actually it may be even beyond the stage. Yes you may place your drawings and symbols out of stage – they will be part of your file but you won’t see them.
- Now the most important step. Place your cursor at the frame between keyframes. In the Properties Inspector find combobox Tween and select Motion. Alternatively you may use Menu-Insert-Create Motion Tween. Between keyframes must appear an arrow and color of the timeline will change to light violet or lilac.
- Try to move your hairline cursor along the timeline – you’ll see that the rocket is moving!
Save and test your first movie. You may see that it repeats again and again. Adjust the length of the timeline and position of the rocket in the keyframes to make your movie well-timed. We placed a symbol in start and final keyframes below and above the stage respectively – to make the rocket appear “from the space”
