Distribute to Layers

There is one option of Layer manipulation that may be useful for you later.

If you have several objects drawn in one layer you may distribute them to layers.

You will do an exercise now.

• Create a new file with the stage size approximately 550 X 75 pixels
• Choose a word, which can be a slogan or name of your website which you will create at the final stage of our course
• Type it on the stage with large attractive font and color of your choice
• Select Menu-Modify-Break Apart. It will create separate “texts” one letter each
• Select Menu-Modify-Distribute To Layers.
• Observe the results – every page must occupy the separate layer.
• Save and test your file. You will need you for the future exercises.

This method of layer distribution doesn’t work for simple drawings. It is good only for texts and symbols. You will learn more about symbols later.
