Flash Basics
Library
Library Panel is designed to keep all symbols (explained later) which is possible to utilize many times in the current file and transfer between files. There are two Library Panels available. To open your custom Library, select Menu – Window – Library or use F11 shortcut.
There is nothing now in the Library, because you have not created any symbols yet.
But if you open Menu-Window-Common Libraries - and choose for this case Buttons – you may see several predefined symbols which are supplied with Flash package. Open one of folders in the Library, highlight any button and drag it to the stage.
By the chance you may see that Properties inspector shows now properties relevant to Button object.
Save your file and publish it. Through Windows Explorer open HTML version of output file or independent .swf compiled file. Observe the result. It could be something like that. Button on the stage is not doing anything yet, but you may see and “touch” it.
You may also preview the file by selecting Menu- Control- Test Movie from the Menu Bar. It allows you to watch your results fast at the intermediate steps of your design.
